Ask yourself the following questions to reflect on your life: What would you do you if you only had 24 hours to live? What would you be most grateful for? What would you say to those whom you had hurt? Could you forgive those who had hurt you?

After your self-reflection, consider some of the secrets to creating a happy life outlined below.

Make a gratitude list and either begin or end your day by reading it. If you feel disappointed or discouraged, recite that list to yourself. Believe in it.

Appreciate those in your life who love you. . Tell your family members, your children, if you have them, how blessed you are to have them in your life. Remember that love is not only spoken but shown by your actions. Show those you love that you love them…every day. You’ve heard it a million times, actions speak louder than words. It may even help you to make a list of the people who mean the most to you – even those outside your immediate family.

Remember that you must be willing to sacrifice. Ask yourself, “What do I value so much that I would be willing to give up everything if necessary to save it?”. Would it be your career, your marriage, or your family?  Every relationship of sign emotional significant value will at times be tested and require sacrifice.

Make a list of the people, things and values to which you are truly committed and why. Revisit your list as often as possible as it’s a very valuable thing. This list can serve as constant reminder of what is good, right, true and most valuable.

Ask yourself, “What have I done to hurt someone else?”.  Apologize with no strings attached. A genuine apology requires just a few things from you, mainly caring and humility.
