H-Factor Where Is Your Heart

By Lisa Cypers Kamen

Remember that everyone defines happiness differently so what makes you happy may not make another person happy With that said, here are just a few tips for finding happiness in your life:

  • Experiment to find out what makes you happy. See what you hobbies and/or activities bring you the most happiness and do those things as often as you can.
  • Make a gratitude journal or jar and try to write down ten things each day that you are thankful for. It might be your health, your family or something else, but this helps you to count your blessings and puts the focus on the positive things in your life.
  • Think in terms of solutions instead of problems. If something seems too hard, ask yourself, “What’s the solution?” You’ll be much happier if you can adjust your thinking.
  • Spend time with your friends and family. You can give them a quick call, visit with them for a short time, or make a day of connecting with the people you care about- it’s up to you!
  • Acceptance. This means accepting ourselves as we are as well as accepting others and the things that happen in life as they are.
  • Slow down in your day-to-day tasks and take the time to enjoy every moment. We are so rushed in our daily lives with too many things that we don’t take the time to enjoy them. Try to have fewer things to do in your day and enjoy the everyday tasks such as eating or sitting.
